Prism Launcher Review
Prism Launcher is a custom launcher for Minecraft that focuses on predictability and long term stability. It provides features for managing multiple Minecraft installations (or “instances”) with their own mods, resource packs and settings. It also supports modded Minecraft, including Optifine HD which boosts framerates and adds Dynamic Lights, shaders and newer textures.
The program is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, in both 64-bit and 32-bit versions. The download size is around 100 MB. Once installed, it will display a Minecraft logo in the system tray, allowing you to open and manage your Minecraft instances. You can access all of the features without needing to use your browser or the official Mojang client. This means that you can save time and effort while playing Modded Minecraft or even Vanilla Minecraft.
Besides providing access to all of your Minecraft installations, the application also includes a mod downloader and mod management. This allows you to install and update mods from CurseForge, Modrinth, Technic and FTB. You can also customize the Minecraft settings and change Java runtime options from within the application.
Another notable feature is the ability to create shortcuts to online applications and load them in a stripped-down browser window. This frees up your normal browser tabs and pages and makes it easy to keep Gmail, Facebook or Twitter open in a separate Prism window. The software is designed to be simple and uses very little resources. Moreover, it is built using Qt, so it requires no complex configuration to work.
